Takedrop — Scaling a SaaS Platform Through Design System Thinking

Project type

  • SaaS Platform Design
  • Design System Development
  • E-commerce Product UX

Stage

  • Concept & UX Strategy
  • Information Architecture
  • UI System Design & Scaling

Deliverables

  • Design System (components, tokens)
  • User Flows & IA
  • Web App Interface (dashboard)

Context

Platforma SaaS do tworzenia i zarządzania sklepami internetowymi, skierowana do osób rozpoczynających działalność w modelu e-commerce (low-entry, dropshipping / micro-brands). Projekt obejmował uporządkowanie doświadczenia użytkownika oraz stworzenie spójnego systemu wizualnego i funkcjonalnego.

Problem

The platform suffered from fragmented UX, inconsistent UI patterns, and lack of a scalable design system.
Users faced high cognitive load when setting up and managing their stores, especially during onboarding.

Key issues:

  • inconsistent interface across modules
  • unclear information architecture
  • lack of guided flows for new users
  • limited scalability of visual and component system

Approach

Focused on building a system-first foundation rather than designing isolated screens.

  • defined core user flows (store setup, product management, sales)
  • restructured information architecture
  • designed modular UI system (components, states, tokens)
  • introduced consistent interaction patterns across desktop & mobile
  • aligned communication layer (UI + brand + product language)

Design System

Created a scalable foundation for product growth:

  • component library (inputs, tables, navigation, dashboards)
  • semantic color system & tokens
  • responsive behavior across breakpoints
  • unified visual language (UI, illustrations, motion)
  • documentation for reuse and future developmen

Page Builder

One of the key product features was a no-code page builder, designed to enable users to create fully functional store pages without technical knowledge.

Problem:
Users struggled to build and customize store layouts without developer support.

Solution:
Designed a modular, block-based editor allowing visual composition of pages.

Key elements:

  • drag-and-drop canvas for layout building
  • block-based structure (hero, product grid, CTA, etc.)
  • sidebar with reusable components
  • properties panel for real-time editing
  • responsive preview and layout control

👉 No-code interface for building fully functional e-commerce pages without developer support.

Solution

Delivered a cohesive and scalable product experience:

  • redesigned user panel (core workspace)
  • simplified onboarding and store setup flows
  • introduced automation tools reducing manual setup
  • integrated page builder into the product ecosystem
  • ensured consistency across platform and marketing touchpoints

Outcome

  • reduced complexity in onboarding flows
  • improved clarity of core user actions
  • enabled faster feature development through systemization
  • created scalable foundation for future product expansion
